Our coaching team is highly experienced in coaching youth and senior athletes.  

We ensure that all our fencers develop in a positive, friendly and supportive environment.

peter wright, lead coach

Peter is a highly experienced coach and fencer.  He has competed nationally and internationally and represented Great Britain at Junior and Senior World Cup events.  

Peter has also been a member of the Senior England Sabre team and has represented Great Britain at the Fencing Master’s World Championships.  He also became the youngest ever British coach to hold a British Academy of Fencing (BAF) and Acadamie D’Armes Internationale (AAI) Master’s Diploma in Sabre Fencing in 1998.

His pupils have represented Great Britain at Cadet, Junior, Senior and Veteran World Championships.  


nick williams, assistant coach

Nick is one of our junior coaches and is a highly experienced fencer and is enthusiastic in coaching new fencers.  He has competed nationally and internationally and has trained in many countries including Hungary, Italy and America.

In 2015 Nick represented England in the Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championships in South Africa and won the a Team Gold Medal in the Mens Sabre.



Lynn helps lead and organise our development activities.  Lynn is an experienced fencer and competed both nationally and internationally.  She has fenced for England in the Women's Sabre events for the Commonwealth Veterans Fencing Championships and for Great Britain in the European Veterans Championships. 


All of our coaches are qualified with the British Academy of Fencing are insured and hold first aid certification and DBS clearance.
